Hello! Call me Newton. While I'm happy with anything and love all stamps, I particularly collect stamps from the following topics:
THE ARCTIC/ANTARCTIC & POLAR EXPLORATION, especially
- Antarctic exploration, especially the Heroic Age (1890s-1920s), in particular stamps commemorating specific expeditions & exploration figures (no matter how obscure they are!)
- Stamps from circumpolar countries & Antarctic territories (I particularly enjoy stamps from the TAAF, the French Southern and Antarctic Lands!)
- Circumpolar peoples & cultures
- Polar wildlife (flora, fauna, etc.)
ANYTHING ART & ART HISTORY, especially
- Art of the Middle Ages (I'm a medievalist!)
- Religious history, Saints and holy figures, deities, monks and mendicants, religious objects and images
- Clothing history, including folk/local dress
- Books, manuscripts, book illuminations & miniatures
- Archaeological finds, objects, and sites
- Architecture
- Folktales, myths, and legends
NAUTICAL TOPICS & HISTORY, especially
- Sailships and sailboats, whether for war or exploration or recreation
- Nautical disasters (see: my Polar exploration collecting)
- Whales & whaling
- Ocean wildlife
- Nautical culture(s) & the seas in art and material culture
I am also interested in STAMPS AS ARTISTIC ITEMS, and love stamps with a strong aesthetic direction.
But I mean it when I say I am happy with anything! All I ask is that you make it interesting--whatever that means to you. And if you have something in the aforementioned topics and would like to send it, then that will make me incredibly happy.
Happy trading with you! :)
