Too restrictive expectations

Dear Admin,
Dear Danubius,

You know what makes me the most upset ... It is that lot of members from the clubs (25, 50 and 100 stamps) are too restrictive ...
They only want this or that .. AND if you don't provide what they ask, because you just haven't got that ... well then they are not satisfied and give you a bad quotation, even if the stamps you did select and sent are nice !

I agree if people don't want Cinderella's, CTO's .. prefer even some countries, BUT only want what they put on their profile, well then I think they are not in the right place for that !

Kind regards,
Paul

Hello-the address of the country with which there is no mail message fell out. What should I do?

@Catergeia15: You send the stamps that you have. A profile description should have preferences, not demands.
If for some reason you want to cancel an exchange, you can do so once every 30 days. The slot goes back to your partner and you can request a new address. If you have a canceled exchange with a user, you will not get the address of that member again.

@lubo18: After each registered exchange, the sender gets a slot. A slot can't go back into the pool if the envelope is not registered because some might abuse this option. Someone might be tempted to not register a received envelope knowing that the address would go back into the pool to be used again. At this point there is no benefit in not registering an exchange.

@collectusedstamps: All letters must be registered. Even an empty envelope, with a negative rating.
A rating can be changed. If there is a misunderstanding, you can try to clarify this with your partner through PMs. Mistakes had happened, and some members did resend stamps to compensate.

is it possible that the one who received it didn't like the stamps so didn't register the letter? I sure hope not though!

Many new collectors scramble to find 25 different stamps, we all began at some point, so this rule is totally wrong.

I don't think it's fair that the letter is considered lost of an address is requested and not sent. Why does the person that was supposed to receive get punished? Makes no sense at all. The address should just go back into the pool. If you chech ranking some users receive more than they send while some send more than they receive. Not cool.

Hi agree. Just joined yesterday and got 2 addresses whose preferences are difficult. Being a newbie, I dnt have much stamps either, moreso difficult themes/topics. What I did was I sent a private message to the person and told him/her that I do not have the ones he/she prefers. The person is willing to see what you have in store for him/her. Hope the swap will be successful and that the person will like the stamps I plan to give

If you request an address and you don't sent an letter with stamps, that member won't be receiving another letter in exchange. It will be considered lost.

So, only request an address when you intend to send it.

These preferences from the profile page are optional, not mandatory.
If you request an address, you have to send stamps to that member using the stamps that you have.
If for some reason you want to cancel an exchange, you can now do so once every 30 days (It used to be 90 days)

New to this. Went through the top 10 ranked people's profile and I don't have many of the stamps they wish for. Apprehensive about asking for first address. If I don't have what they want, can I get a new address? How does this work?

I understand your point. The rules are simple. The preferences about themes, years, countries are just preferences. They are optional.

Its a random partners assigned system. There can not be demands, only preferences. Simply because its a random system. Demands can only be in a direct swap.

Maybe when you receive such a profile, you can contact that member and remind them of the rules.

I did contact some members that had such profiles. Some changed their profiles.
I will try to contact such members in the future but its difficult to read each profile after each update.

I'm sure that most of them will review their profile after one or a few members will tell them that they can not send what they want.

I agree completely. I stopped using 50 and 100 stamps club because I got stuck with people who had requests I simply couldn't fulfill. There is one person on 100 stamp club I remember who said they ONLY wanted Disney stamps.

Exactly! This is why I have stopped swapping here...I don't always have the stamps that are being demanded. I don't mind REQUESTS but when I see..."I ONLY collect...." then I wish I hadn't requested an address but by then it is too late :(
I just popped back in here to perhaps have another go at swapping but seeing this message makes me think I will not bother.

Kind regards,
Jeanette
